Respect Not Fear

          My husband and I embarked on a remarkable journey, establishing a 501c3 non-profit organization, which ignited my passion to return to school at 60, after a 40-year hiatus.

         D'zz Spot Reptarium and Educational Center Inc. is emerging as a comprehensive reptile rescue and educational hub, offering community outreach through fresh produce distribution, reptile education, pollinator conservation awareness, and educational partnerships with schools and organizations via virtual tours. Our aim is to design an immersive educational journey exploring reptiles, pollinators, and conservation. While our reptiles are currently housed in a small facility with suitable enclosures, we recognize the need for expanded facilities to ensure their optimal quality of life in captivity, given their inability to thrive in the wild.

         Our organization's ambassador animal program facilitates educational interactions with schools, daycares, and community groups, featuring a diverse range of species, including Ball Pythons, Reticulated Pythons, Burmese Pythons, Boas, Tortoises, Bearded Dragons, and others. Some of our animals have disabilities stemming from birth or inadequate care in previous settings, offering a valuable teaching tool for discussing the consequences of poor animal husbandry and promoting disability awareness. We are currently developing a large, publicly accessible facility to showcase our animal, arachnid, and fish collections, with a focus on sustainability through solar power, electric equipment, and hybrid vehicles, contingent upon securing sufficient grant funding and donations.

         Our mission revolves around public education on the importance of all species, cultivating appreciation over fear of reptiles, bees, and bats, alongside rescuing and rehabilitating unwanted or injured reptiles.

         We envision establishing a lasting bond between the community and its natural surroundings, founded on reciprocal respect for animals and pollinators alike.

         Imagine a vibrant oasis where wildlife thrives and community comes together. Our vision begins with the Reptarium, a 30' x 60' haven for over 100 reptiles, arachnids, amphibians, and fish, each with its own story and connection to the wild ecosystem. Rescued and surrendered animals find refuge here, thanks to ethical breeders and dedicated caretakers. Kids will discover wonder in our interactive children's area, while outdoor enclosures and cameras bring the natural world closer. A serene Gazebo and Koi pond, surrounded by a wildflower conservation area, invite gatherings and reflection. Our Greenhouse and garden beds will nourish animals, families, and seniors, demonstrating sustainable living. A state-of-the-art facility supports quarantine, and veterinary care, available for educational tours. Virtual and outreach programs extend our impact, inspiring rural communities to cherish conservation, wildlife, and the environment.
